Germany Untouchable in a Dual-Purpose Test
Today's event (Class S2 - Round 1), run over the Mercedes-Benz Prize course, held capital importance: it served simultaneously as the first round of the team final and the second qualifying phase for the individual championship. Unlike yesterday's Table C Speed Class, riders faced a traditional Table A course set at 5.25 feet (1.60 m) where every knocked rail added 4 penalty points to their cumulative score.
Driven by the fervor of the Aachen grandstands, the German team delivered a masterclass in control. Marcus Ehning aboard Coolio 42, Sophie Hinners with Iron Dames Singclair, and Daniel Deusser in the reins of Otello de Guldenboom all jumped clear rounds. To close out the day in style, Richard Vogel and United Touch S also effortlessly handled the difficulties amid the crowd's cheers. Germany thus maintains the lead in the provisional overall standings.
The United States in Second, Belgium and Italy in Ambush
Behind the German leaders, the American squad held its ground thanks to penalty-free performances by Laura Kraut (Baloutinue), Katherine A. Dinan (Out Of The Blue SCF), and Lillie Keenan (Fasther). McLain Ward's rail down at vertical number 8 was erased by the drop score principle, propelling the United States into second place.
The third step of the provisional podium is shared by Belgium and Italy. For the Belgians, Abdel Said's clear round on Wathnan Quaker Brimbelles offset the eight faults conceded by Pieter Devos. Great Britain settles into fifth place.
Of note is Sweden's strong comeback: eighteenth the previous day, the defending world champions bounced back by recording three clean rounds, led notably by Wilma McMahoon and Henrik von Eckermann. Sweden thus secures its ticket among the top ten nations qualified for Friday's team final. Conversely, Brazil and Mexico are eliminated from the team competition.
Team France Sixth, Individual Qualification Becomes Complicated
The French clan experienced an emotion-filled day. Nina Mallevaey set the team on solid footing by posting another flawless clear round with Dynastie de Beaufour. Meanwhile, Olivier Perreau incurred four faults at vertical number 10 with GL events Dorai d'Aiguilly.
The afternoon turnaround goes to Antoine Ermann. Following his mishap yesterday at combination number 9, the young pilot delivered a high-precision performance aboard Floyd des Pres to secure a second clean round for France:
As the final Frenchman to enter the arena, Julien Epaillard needed a clear round to keep France on the provisional podium and preserve his individual lead. Unfortunately, two faults committed at the exit oxer of the triple combination number 9 and then at oxer 11 with Fringan de Vesquerie added 8 penalties to his score. France drops to sixth in the team standings (six points behind Germany).
Individual Standings: Scott Brash Takes the Lead, Nina Mallevaey 11th
In the cumulative individual general standings following this second event, Britain's Scott Brash takes the lead aboard Hello Mango with a total of 0.80 penalties. He trails Germany's Sophie Hinners paired with Iron Dames Singclair (0.84 pt) by a hair, while Switzerland's Steve Guerdat (Dynamix de Belheme) and Germany's Daniel Deusser (Otello de Guldenboom) tie for the third step of the provisional podium with 0.86 penalties. For the French, Nina Mallevaey's consistency is paying off: thanks to a second perfect round on Dynastie de Beaufour, the young French rider climbs to eleventh worldwide (1.93 pt) and positions herself ideally in the race for the Top 25. On the other hand, penalized with 8 faults today, Julien Epaillard drops to 64th place (8.00 pt), just behind Olivier Perreau (58th with 7.06 pt) and ahead of Antoine Ermann (74th with 10.15 pt).

Stadium 3 at the Allianz Park continued awarding individual Grand Prix A para-dressage medals, which serve as qualifiers for the musical freestyle routine.
Grade IV: American Demonstration, Vinchon 4th
In Grade IV, American Kate Shoemaker dominated proceedings with Vianne, earning a score of 78.889%. Germany's Anna-Lena Niehues took the silver medal on Vive l'Amour (74.639%), followed by Britain's Nicola Naylor with Humberto L (73.861%). The French riders achieved an excellent overall performance just outside the podium: Vladimir Vinchon placed fourth with Pegase Mayenne (73.000%), while Alexia Pittier took sixth place on Sultan 768 (71.583%).

In Grade V, Great Britain's Sophie Wells claimed the world title aboard MSJ Gold Standard with a score of 74.949%. The Netherlands' Britney de Jong secured silver on Caramba N.O.P. (73.154%), ahead of Germany's Regine Mispelkamp taking bronze on Highlander Delight's (72.974%).

Four-in-Hand Driving: Dries Degrieck Takes the Lead in Dressage
Thursday also marked the entry of four-in-hand driving for the dressage phase. Belgium's Dries Degrieck took the provisional lead with a score of 38.19 penalty points, ahead of Germany's Christoph Sandmann and the Netherlands' Ijsbrand Chardon, tied at 44.78 points. French drivers Maxime Maricourt and Benjamin Aillaud sit in 13th (59.57 pt) and 17th place (62.63 pt) respectively.
